3rd day of birthday celebration. we had a party together with a friend, alex, who lives in scharbeutz, at the baltic sea. dear friends, lots of talks & fun, yummy treats. in her garden i picked red, black and white currants … & plenty of wild edibles (found something new: borage … so delicious, i could not stop eating it! later that day someone told me borage is known to be good to calm & strengthen when feeling stressed. maybe this is why i like it so much?!? anyway, my body seems to need it. ).

although it was a bit chilly & windy we went to the beach … to cold for most of us to take a bath (not for all of us: m. actually had fun in the water!) we enjoyed being creative & playing in the sand

… second day of celebration

yesterday – my birthday – i simply enjoyed life: every minute of the day, the congratulations, letters, emails, sms, calls, presents … so many wonderful things happened.

today we were celebrating with some of my family. my mom brought beautiful roses to me:

today we had a good time at gut wulksfelde, enjoying the sun & eating strawberries & greens. we brought home strawberries, orache, comfrey, stinging nettles & mugwort.

we had a wonderful day today, full of sun & warmth, sport, art, & gardening …

moreover, we had green burgers, sushi, hummus, tomato sauce, japanese radish salad, two more cakes & wild greens in abundance!

i really enjoyed the time, the company, life! what a wonderful world!

coming back to hamburg the city is greeting us with wonderful weather. springlike temperature, sunny & warm. i found stinging nettles, dandelion, goutweed and leafs of the lime tree in our and our neighbours’ garden & next to our house! & what a beautiful sight out of our kitchen window: the cherry tree is blowing

i am still feeling the joy of a wonderful evening – celebrating new year’s eve with some dear friends & my daughter. this has been the first new year for 13 years without my son … he decided to celebrate with his father. i was missing him … and two very dear friends who could not be with us … anyhow we have had lots of fun, playing, dancing, talking, eating …

although i really don’t like the annual hype about xmas, i absolutely love making the advent calendars for my kids. this year i have even managed to come up with them in time. want to see this year’s version?

furthermore i do enjoy decorating our house. i began to do this today, 1st advent … so i don’t have to show much, but there are 24 days left to go on crafting & decorating
