Thursday, February 19th, 2009

for those of you looking for nice raw treats: how do you like this tartlet?

tartlet

the crust is made of dates & almonds, filling: grated apple, ground poppy seeds & agave nectar, all topped with banana-slices. i got the recipe for the filling from pavlina – thank you for this inspiration!

winter-greens 2

kelp is great to be eaten on its own or simply with avocado or olives or dates. but today we felt like preparing something … this is what we came up with:

pasta marinara

grated root celery with tomato sauce (made of dried tomatoes, celery, parsley, fresh kelp, water & olive oil), kelp and olives. yummy! & also very warming, a great winter meal!

scary afternoon

… some more about our halloween-day. hope you’re not bored yet ;)

tangerine jack o'lantern

in the afternoon we had a small party with some friends here. creepy decoration, masquerade (sorry, no pics …) and lots of scary things to eat. all raw, of course. my favourite was this green smoothie:

furthermore we had a pumpkin pie and bat-, pumpkin- and ghost-cookies … which i forgot to photograph on their own, but you can see them behind the smoothie.

my creative friends also brought these great little monsters:

raw cellar cake

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

maybe you would not think of cellar cake (german: kalter hund) as something baked, but for sure it is not raw. some time ago i made a really raw cellar cake:

yummy – & very filling. i love the taste of raw chocolate but things like these don’t make me feel well. i prefer to eat cocoa beans, fresh or dried. maybe with a piece of coconut. or some peppermint leaves.
